In their first game of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, India defeated Pakistan by 124 runs. During the match, star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja showed his brilliance in the field to send back Shoaib Malik packing.
It happened in the 24th over of Pakistan’s innings, when Malik sliced Umesh Yadav‘s delivery to the left of backward point and set off for a single.
While the batsman would have thought that he could complete the run easily, he seemed to have forgotten that the ball had gone straight into the hands of India’s best fielder. Although Mohammed Hafeez forced Malik to return to his batting crease, it took only seconds for Jadeja to sprint to his left and throw the ball, while off balance, directly at the wickets on the striker’s end.
