New upcoming web series ‘Inside Edge’ is set against the backdrop of league cricket, in which actress Richa Chadha plays the role of a franchise owner.
It has been reported that the characters played by actor Vivek Oberoi and Richa in the web series are based on cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL), which are inspired by Lalit Modi, the former chairman who was sacked in 2010 for alleged fraud and money laundering, and Kings XI Punjab’s team co-owner, Preity Zinta.
Reports are also there that the series directed by Karan Anshuman has a love making scene between Vivek, who plays the founder of the league and Richa Chhada.
Also, an entertainment website was quoted as saying, “As the series deals with the murky side of the sports spectacle, Richa’s character — an actress who owns a franchise team — is shown to be going through financial losses. To keep afloat in the business, she has to compromise with Vivek, the founder of the league, who seeks sexual favours. There’s even a scene involving sexual bondage.” Richa is also dating a cricketer, the role played by Angad Bedi in the Inside Edge.
Though there are no confirmations on whether the characters in the series are based on Modi and Zinta, or are fictional, the bubbly actress has reportedly got in touch with the series producer Farhan Akhtar and requested him to show it to her before it is streamed.
