Indian seamer Mohammed Shami and his wife Hasin Jahan were attacked by some youths late on Saturday when the couple was returning home to Katju Nagar, close to South City Mall in Jadavpur.
The incident took place when Shami’s driver nearly collided with a local bike which was kept meter’s away from the speedster’s residence resulting in a brawl between Shami’s driver and the youths.
Shami, who tried to play the role of the peacemaker was instead attacked by the three people involved. The group escaped the place only to return with their friends in an attempt to Intrude Shami’s residence. The group assaulted the guard as well who tried to stop them from getting in.
The FIR was filed by Shami’s wife after which the accused were arrested and presented in front of the court.
