Cricket fraternity lauded ever talented Rohit Sharma and vintage MS Dhoni after the duo helped India beat Sri Lanka in the third ODI to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series at Pallekele.
Chasing a tricky 218 for a win, India’s were jolted early by Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli‘s wickets. But Rohit and KL Rahul added 42 for the third wicket before Akila Danajaya gave two big blows in form of Rahul and Kedar Jadhav putting India on the back-foot.
Dhoni (67 not out) then joined Rohit (124 not out) in the middle and the duo forged an unbeaten 157-run partnership for the fifth wicket to help India chase down the target with six wickets in hand.
