Suresh Raina has a special message for MS Dhoni ahead of 300th ODI

In the fourth match of the five-match series against Sri Lanka, former Indian skipper MS Dhoni will become only the 20th player to play 300 or more One Day Internationals (ODIs).

Considered as one of the greatest finishers in 50-overs format, Dhoni will join India’s elite ‘Club 300’, which has Sachin Tendulkar (463), Rahul Dravid (344), Mohammed Azharuddin (334), Sourav Ganguly (311) and Yuvraj Singh (304).

From his personal best of 183 not out in 2005 to his World Cup-winning knock in 2011, some of Dhoni’s top innings and best cricketing moments have been against the Islanders, and we hope MSD plays one of such innings in his 300th ODI as well.

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina who has always made it clear that Dhoni is one cricketer who has inspired him time and again, has posted a special message for the wicket-keeper batsman on the micro-blogging site.

With Dhoni set to play his 300th ODI game at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Thursday, Raina decided to personally wish his dear friend.

Taking to Twitter, Raina wrote, “The iconic wicketkeeper-batsman msdhoni gets ready for his 300th ODI match! My wishes to the man who always inspires me! #INDvsSL #Dhoni300”
