Indian left-handed batsman Suresh Raina once again failed to make the cut in India’s limited overs series against Sri Lanka, starting from August 20 in Dambulla.
Raina has played 223 ODI matches so far, scoring 5568 runs at an average of 35.46, along with 36 fifties and 4 centuries but have been missing from the national squad for a long time now.
The southpaw was last seen in 2015 against South Africa during the 5-match ODI series. He was part of the T20I squad against England earlier this year but hasn’t got any opportunity post that.
After being overlooked by the selectors, Raina posted a cryptic message on his Instagram.
Here’s what Suresh Raina posted:
Well, not only Raina but also veteran Yuvraj Singh failed to make the cut. In-form middle-order batsmen Manish Pandey has been rewarded with a place in the 15 members squad following his heroics in the tri-nation series in South Africa. With the competition boiling down the neck to neck contest, Raina, once a vital cog in the middle-order, will now have to prove his case in the domestic matches.
