Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni and pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar registered a record hundred-run partnership for the eighth wicket to help the visitors secure a 3-wicket win against the hosts Sri Lanka in the second ODI played at Pallekele.
Fortune favours the brave and Dhoni was that brave. In the 35th over of second innings,
Vishwa Fernando almost dismissed the right-handed batsman on his second delivery.
The ball hit the stumps, but since the impact wasn’t of high intensity, the bails didn’t come off.
Dhoni was trying to flick the ball towards on-side, but the ball hit his body and trickled back onto the stumps. Luckily, no damage was done. And it finally proved out to be the turning of the match.
