Cricket fans witnessed one horrendous run-out involving Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma during the fourth ODI of the ongoing series between India and Australia.
Chasing a 335-run target, India got off to a good start with opener Rohit and Ajinkya Rahane posting 100+ runs inside the 17th over. But the fall of Rahane in the 19th over brought Kohli in the centre.
Then in the 23rd over Rohit found himself run out, after a deadly mix-up with Kohli.
It was Steve Smith who deserves the entire credit for Rohit’s dismissal. On the last ball of the 23rd over, Smith with acrobatic effort grabbed the ball quickly and threw it. Although his throw went at the wrong end, where both Kohli and Rohit had reached the crease; he pointed out at Peter Handscomb to give the ball to Kane Richardson who after receiving it dislodged the bails at the other end.
Rohit was looking good for another big knock until the unfortunate incident took place and had to depart in disappointment after scoring 65 runs.
