India and Australia’s on-field rivalry has only heated up when players from both the teams have faced each other in high profile series. Players from both the sides are not shy of sledging each other when it matters the most.
In the second ODI between India and Australia at the Eden Gardens, Australian wicket-keeper Matthew Wade tried to sledge Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
This all happened during the 33rd over of the Indian innings when a delivery hit Wade on the hand and he winced in pain. He was unable to collect the ball as it went away from him and Kohli, Kedar Jadhav who were at crease took a single and that is when Wade lost his cool.
Wade then tried to sledge the Indian skipper for his poor sportsman spirit, which was recorded on the mic.
“I might have a cry like you. I might go to the dressing rooms and have a good cry like you. Everyone has to feel sorry for you,” Wade said while passing near Kohli during the change of the ends.
After Wade vented his frustration, it was time for Kohli to gave it back to the Australian wicketkeeper and his words were audible as well.
Marcus Stoinis who was bowling during the incident also tried getting under Kohli’s skin, using Wade as a shield.
