Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the latest Indian cricketer to make his relationship official. Bhuvi who was one of India’s star performers against Australia in the recently concluded ODI series against Australia got engaged to Nupur Nagar in Greater Noida on Wednesday. The engagement took place in complete secrecy and was attended by couple’s close friends and families.
Talking about how the match was fixed, Kiran Pal Singh, Bhuvneshwar’s father, told TOI :
“Our families have known each other for a while now, par yeh Bhuvneshwar ki pasand thi. Ussne humein bataya and we were happy. The girl is educated and sweet and the family is very nice too. We are now trying to see when we can have the wedding. Bhuvi is busy with back-to-back series in the coming months but as soon as we find a 10-day window, we will make arrangements.”
Family sources also said that they are looking for a December date for the wedding, somewhere between India vs Sri Lanka series that ends on December 21 and India’s tour of South Africa tour that begins close to New Year’s Eve.
According to Bhuvneshwar’s family, the wedding will take place in Meerut in all likeliness.
“As soon as the dates are finalized, we will book a venue here in Meerut. But if logistics don’t allow that, we will look for some place in Delhi too,” said Kiran Pal Singh.
He also added that it is likely that the wedding will have several Indian cricketers like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Praveen Kumar etc. on the guest list.
“Dekhiye, shaadi koi roz-roz toh hoti nahi. This is a special occasion and we want everyone to be there. So we will extend our invitation to all of Bhuvneshwar’s teammates from the Indian team. I hope all of them can make it too.”
