Cricketing fraternity reacts as India beat New Zealand in a thrilling encounter to clinch the series

India galloped to its seventh consecutive ODI series wins by defeating New Zealand by 6 runs in a thrilling encounter at the Green Park stadium in Kanpur.

The Men in Blue batted first after Blackcaps’ skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and put 337 runs on the board. Rohit Sharma (147) and Virat Kohli (113) added 230 runs for the second wicket to set up the innings for India while MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav provided the late innings finish to Indian scoreboard.

India knew they needed wickets to win the match and a hundred run partnership between Colin Munro (75) and Kane Williamson (64) put Kiwis on the track. But Yuzvendra Chahal removed the duo quickly.

Jasprit Bumrah removed Taylor and though Tom Latham and Henry Nicholls threatened to take the game away from India. Latham got out for 65 and then the two best death over bowlers, Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar put pressure on the Kiwi batsmen and finally won the match for their side by 6 runs.

Cricket fraternity was keeping a check on this humdinger and applauded India on winning the match and series.
