IPL’s all-time leading run scorer Suresh Raina currently finds no place in the Indian cricket team in any format of the game. Until a year and a half back, Raina was seen as an integral part of India’s white ball set up and a proven T20 match winner.
So what’s kept him out of action and what future holds for the 30-year-old?
Attending a promotional event in Mumbai, Raina did well to say all the right things in his quest for a comeback. “I am working hard. Nothing is tough in life if you enjoy your process which I have always done. I have always made tough comebacks. Like when I got injured, it was a very difficult phase. I am in a good space. Things will happen with time,” he said.
Until the yo-yo test question came up. “Ask the BCCI. When time comes I will speak. I am fit,” he replied when asked about the new non-negotiable fitness standard set by the Indian team management.
When probed further if he would be ready to meet his next yo-yo date, he added unimpressed, “I have come here having a good run. But if you ask BCCI, you will know better.”

However, he was ignored for the Sri Lanka series with the reports suggesting that he along with veteran batsman Yuvraj Singh failed the fitness test which has now been made mandatory before getting into the national team.
