Of course, they have studied apart from perusing their passion. You will be shocked to know that there are some cricketers who have engineering, IAS, commerce, astrophysics, and other degrees.

9.) Ravichandran Ashwin

The backbone of Team India in Tests, Ravichandran Ashwin, did his schooling from Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan and St. Bede’s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School. He went on to pursue engineering, graduating in Information Technology from the SSN College of Engineering, Chennai. Ashwin also worked for Cognizant Technology Solutions for a while.

Former Indian captain, Krishnamachari Srikkanth is an electrical engineer who graduated from College of Engineering, Guindy in Chennai.

Srinivasaraghavan Venkataraghavan is an Engineering Graduate from Madras University. He played Test cricket for the Indian cricket team and later became an umpire.

Current Team India Test opener, Murali Vijay, was not good in studies and scored just 40 per cent in the XII standard. He left his home after the poor result in order to learn more about life. The Indian opener was more into travelling and sea life and this what kept him away from the studies. However, he did return back and realize the importance of studies. He then joined the Vivekananda College in Mylapore, Chennai. According to cricket.com.au, he now holds a degree in economics and masters in philosophy.
