Indian skipper Virat Kohli smashed a brilliant century in the first ODI of the 3 match series against New Zealand played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
When the Delhi lad came to bat after the dismissal of Shikhar Dhawan, he looked a bit rusty and was even dropped on 29 by Mitchell Santer at covers.
He made full use of the opportunity and completed his hundred off 111 balls. With his 31st ODI century, he went past Ricky Ponting and is now just behind Sachin Tendulkar, who has 49 ODI hundreds.
Before getting out in the final over, Kohli scored 121 off 125 balls including nine fours and two sixes. As wishes came pouring down for the right-handed batsman on that day, Kohli also got a special message from Polish-German model and actress Claudia Ciesla.
She was all over the moon after Kohli scored a hundred in his 200th ODI.
“Hey Virat kohli congratulations on hitting a century on ur 200th match. I’m sure u will be proud of this inning for a long time #Champ #INDvNZ”, Claudia wrote on Instagram.
