MS Dhoni won millions of hearts after he decided to stay with the Indian team in Australia during ICC World Cup 2015 as Sakshi Dhoni gave birth to their daughter Ziva on 6th February 2015, two days ahead of India’s first warm-up against Australia.
Dhoni, who was leading Team India, was then asked whether he missed being in India for child birth. The Indian skipper had answered in negative, saying, “Not really.”
“I have been blessed with a baby daughter. Mum and daughter both are good,” Dhoni had told reporters.
In a newly-released book by Rajdeep Sardesai, journalist and son of former India cricketer Dilip Sardesai, it is now revealed that Sakshi had to contact Suresh Raina to share the good news with MSD.
Juggernaut Books, publisher of the book Democracy’s XI The Great Indian Cricket Story, tweeted on Friday, “When @msdhoni becm a father arnd 2015 World Cup, he wasn’t carryg a mobile. His wife sent an SMS thru ImRaina to inform him! #RajdeepsBook.”

Mahi’s goals were set for the 2015 World Cup as he then said, “As of now I am on national duties so I think everything else can wait. The World Cup is a very important campaign.”
This clearly shows why Dhoni got emotional after losing the semi-final against Australia in the ICC event. He wanted to win the World Cup badly and even sacrificed being with his wife for the birth of his first child for it.
