Team India captain Virat Kohli on Wednesday dubbed India’s first ever win over New Zealand in T20 Internationals as clinical.
The Men in Blue outclassed the Blackcaps in the first T20I of the 3 match series to take a 1-0 lead.
While speaking about the lanky pacer Ashish Nehra‘s retirement, Kohli said that he knows how hard Nehra has worked and he (Nehra) deserved this kind of farewell with the crowd cheering for him.
“To have played 19 years is very hard for a fast bowler. I know how professional he’s been and how hard he’s worked. He deserved this kind of a farewell with the crowd cheering him. He can now spend time with his family, he’s got a beautiful family. We’ll stay in touch but we’ll miss him and I wish him all the best,” Kohli said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
Kohli was also elated with Team India’s clinical performance at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi which is also his home ground along with Ashish Nehra and Shikhar Dhawan.
“Another good win and a complete team performance. Wishing Ashish bhaiya all the luck for everything in the future. It’s been an honor sharing the field and the dressing room with you. BCCI #INDvNZ #NehraJi”, Kohli wrote on Twitter.
