Indian captain Virat Kohli caused a sudden destruction to the Sri Lankan bowlers during the final day of the first Test against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Monday.
Despite a phenomenal start by the openers, Indian the middle order collapsed badly in the first session. None of the batsmen could score in double digits. All this while Kohli batted with utmost patience and seemed to play in his comfort zone. But he turned his beast mode on after Wriddhiman Saha got out and rode to his 50th international century.
Kohli scored 104 off 119 balls including 2 sixes and 12 fours. It was his 18th century in Tests and 50th overall.
Coming to the moment, he brought up his ton in style. It was a short of length delivery from Suranga Lakmal and Kohli stepped out and drove it inside out over the wide long off fielder. A pause followed and then a big roaring celebration showed the emotions of the Indian captain.
