Cricket and Bollywood fraternity congratulate Rohit Sharma for his record double ton

Rohit Sharma became the first batsman in the history of the gentleman’s game to score a third double century against Sri Lanka in the second ODI of the three-match series against Sri Lanka in Mohali.

Four other batsmen – Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Chris Gayle and Martin Guptill, have scored only one double hundred, but Rohit is the only man to score more than one in one-day internationals.

He blasted 13 fours and 12 sixes in his unbeaten 153-ball knock off unbeaten 208.

Twitter was flooded with tweets appreciating Rohit as he was trending at number 1. Cricket and Bollywood world also took up to the micro-blogging site as they congratulated the Indian batsman for playing a scintillating knock.
