Team India’s young all-rounder Hardik Pandya once again justified his comparison to legendary Kapil Dev after he bagged his 30th ODI wicket of the year 2017 in the third game against Sri Lanka and equaled the former skipper’s record, of scoring 500-plus runs and 25 wickets in one day international in a calendar year which was set in the year 1983.
Pandya, who has been looked as Kapil Dev’s natural successor since he made his debut for India against New Zealand last year, finished 2017 with 31 ODI wickets with a best of 3/40 in his 29 matches. Pandya proved his talent with the bat as well by scoring 557 runs with a career best of 83 against Australia.
On the other hand, Kapil, 34 years ago, took 25 wickets in 18 innings in 18 matches and scored 527 runs at an average of 37.64.
