There’s hardly any doubt over Wriddhiman Saha‘s wicket-keeping ability and while he fails to bag a spot in the limited overs side because of brilliant MS Dhoni, the Bengal lad does produce his brilliant skills behind the stumps to display in Test cricket. Such was the case on the third day of the final Test match at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi when the wicket-keeper took a sensational catch to dismiss Sadeera Samarawickrama.
In the 117th over of Sri Lanka’s first innings, Ishant Sharma tried to lure in Samarawickrama into a drive. The right-handed batsman committed to the shot but could not get the ball in the middle of the bat. The ball took a thick edge off the bat and angled wide off Saha. The 33-year-old dived full stretch to his right and grabbed the ball just a fraction of second before it hit the ground.
The reaction time of Saha clocked at a surprising 0.592 seconds.
