Aanchal Thakur thanks Suresh Raina, Sachin Tendulkar for praising her win

Aanchal Thakur, who has been receiving accolades for winning India’s first medal at an international skiing event, has thanked Indian cricketers Suresh Raina and Sachin Tendulkar for praising her win.

On 9th January, Aanchal made history by winning the first ever international medal in skiing for India. The 21-year old Manali resident won the bronze in the coveted Alpine Ejder 3,200 Cup organised by the Federation Internationale de Ski — skiing’s international governing body — at the Palandoken Ski Centre in Erzurum in Turkey.

Aanchal won the medal in slalom race category. As reported by Times of India, Aanchal expressed herself after winning the medal and said, “Months of training have finally borne fruit. I started well and managed to take a good lead, which helped later in getting the third-place finish.”

Wishes came pouring for the young girl as she made India proud at the International level.

Suresh Raina and Sachin Tendulkar too applauded Anchal for her brilliance.
