Chennai Super Kings, who are making a comeback to the IPL in the upcoming season, have appointed former Australia left-handed batsman Michael Hussey as their batting coach. The southpaw played with CSK for first five seasons and won the title twice during that span.
In his stint with the IPL giants, he scored over 1,700 runs, and was the third highest scorer for the franchise after Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni. “I am really excited about returning to the Chennai Super Kings in a coaching capacity and working with the players to help them get the best out of themselves and also help to bring success to this great franchise,” Hussey was quoted as saying by the CSK website.
“I have so many great memories as a player and have made many wonderful friends in Chennai and now I am excited about giving back to the franchise in trying to help the next generation of CSK players. It is exciting to have CSK back in the competition and I am sure the fans are very happy to have their team back on the field.”
Well, it is going to be a tough task for CSK to come back after a gap of two years, and straightaway start performing. The franchise retained players like MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja in the retention event and will look forward to grab other players in the auction.
