Cricket fraternity condoles the demise of veteran actress Sridevi

The sudden demise of Sridevi has left India in deep shock and the cricket fraternity, too, has been mourning the death of the veteran actress who died in Dubai after suffering a massive heart attack on late Saturday night.

Sridevi was born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan on 13 August 1963 and started her career as a child artist in 1969 film Thunaivan at the age of four.

She made her debut in Hindi movies with 1979’s Solva Sawan. She gained superstardom with 1983’s Sadma and Himmatwala. From then on she went to dominate the Indian film industry with hits like Nagina, Chaalbaaz, Mr. India, Lamhe, Khuda Gawah, Laadla and Judaai.

Sridevi married Boney Kapoor and left the film industry at her peak in 1997 to raise her two daughters. Sridevi received the Padma Shri in 2013, after making her comeback in 2012 in English Vinglish.

The cricketing fraternity couldn’t believe the news of Sridevi’s sudden demise and shared their grief and condolences on Twitter.
