MS Dhoni, a character very rare to bump into, perhaps is one of the phenomenal wicketkeepers to make a mark in international cricket. Dhoni’s efforts behind the wickets perhaps are the rarest to witness in matches where he doesn’t play.
Emerging as the idol of almost every upcoming wicketkeeper, India’s World Cup-winning captain is still the stalwart in safekeeping behind the stumps.
Simulating Dhoni’s skills is not an easy task and punching the way into headlines is India Under-19 team wicketkeeper Harvik Desai. The young lad fetched himself some attention by pulling off Dhoni-esque wicket-keeping in the ICC World Cup final.
Against Australia, Desai was seen sticking out his leg in an attempt to stop the ball as Jonathan Merlo tried a reverse sweep off Abhishek Sharma which was ‘Dhoni-esque’ in the truest sense.
Here are some of the tweets that equated Harvik Desai with MS Dhoni:
Future star in the making! Love the keeping 😂🙈 pic.twitter.com/ix54EB7It2

Lot of talks happening about Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill. But can we see Harvik Desai as a perfect wicket keeper batsman India is looking for after M.S.Dhoni @vikrantgupta73
