Preity Zinta co-owned Kings XI Punjab went all guns blazing in the IPL players auction held in Bengaluru last month in a bid to bolster their squad.
The franchise spent big to acquire some names in the business. The presence of Chris Gayle, Ravichandran Ashwin, Aaron Finch, KL Rahul amongst others in the ranks will provide them with the ambition to end their title drought since the inception of the tournament in 2008.
The Punjab-based franchise has been good on the sponsorship front as well. They have announced Kent RO as their new title sponsor for the upcoming edition of the world-leading T20 cricket tournament.
The water purifier brand has replaced Hero group-owned Hero Cycles as the team’s title sponsor. Kent will be seen on the front of the jersey of the KXIP team now.
Satish Menon, the team’s chief executive, has confirmed that the Kings XI are getting better traction from the sponsors this year and their partner roster is nearly complete.
“We are getting an overwhelming response from the brands who are looking forward to target the local market in Punjab,” said Menon. “We are happy that 90 percent of our inventory is sold out,” he added.
Kings XI have also confirmed their deals with Royal Stag, Detergent brand Fena (official partner) and Lotus Herbals.
