India’s swing master Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up three wickets in his last over to come out of the first T20I against South Africa at the Wanderers, Johannesburg with five wickets.
Bhuvi finished with career-best figures of 5/24 from his four overs to send the South African innings into complete disarray during the 19th over of their run chase (204).
The Proteas ultimately lost the match by 28 runs to go 1-0 down in the three-match series.
Bhuvneshwar is now the first Indian pacer to take a five-wicket-haul in the shortest format of the game. Earlier, Yuzvendra Chahal took 6/25 against England in 2017 to record the best figures by an Indian bowler.
In the process, the Meerut lad also became the first Indian to have five-wicket hauls in all the formats.
