Dinesh Karthik’s wife Dipika Pallikal didn’t watch his innings in Nidahas Trophy 2018 final

Dinesh Karthik played a gem of an innings in the Nidahas Trophy 2018 final against Bangladesh in Colombo. With 5 runs needed off 1 ball, India found a new finisher in form of Karthik, who sealed the T20 international match with a six.

The world watched his heroic innings of 29 off 8 balls, but his wife Dipika Pallikal didn’t. The wicket-keeper batsman recently revealed that Dipika isn’t much of a cricket fan.

“My wife never saw my match. She gets nervous. Her sisters watched it. Cricket is not her favorite sport. She watches squash when it comes on TV. Cricket does not interest her much,” Karthik said.

Karthik also said Dipika Pallikal, who is a squash player, comes to watch only odd IPL matches. “She comes for the odd IPL match. But she does not enjoy cricket so we don’t have many conversations around it,” he added.

Karthik and Dipika have been married for the past three years but the squash star hasn’t been seen on Indian cricket tours with the WAGS brigade. The celebrity couple keeps their social media space busy with holiday pictures and happy times.

Dipika will be next seen playing in the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Australia with her partner Saurav Ghosal in mixed doubles. Karthik also shared best wishes for his better half.

“It’s a very important stage of her career as well. She’s going for the Commonwealth Games. She won gold in doubles last time so it’s a very important time for her as well given that she’s worked extremely hard for the Games in the last one year,” he said.

Meanwhile, Karthik is set to lead Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the upcoming season of IPL. He was appointed as skipper after Gautam Gambhir parted ways with the team.
