PCA requests rescheduling of their home matches
KXIP will begin their IPL 2018 campaign with a match against Delhi Daredevils on 8th April at Firoz Shah Kotla. However, the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) has requested BCCI where they want to reschedule few of their home games.
PCA in a written letter has asked the Indian cricket board to reschedule the home games as the Chandigarh Airport will be under maintenance during the period where the Punjab side is scheduled to play these matches.
As per the current schedule, Kings XI Punjab will play 4 home games between May 4 and 14. As per the reports, the airport at Chandigarh will be shut completely between May 12 and 31 which might affect the games.
As per news daily Times of India (TOI), the request has been received by the board’s acting president CK Khanna who felt that the problem is a genuine one and IPL’s governing council will look into the matter. The decision on the same will be taken on Friday in Mumbai. The two affected games can be shifted to Lucknow if the reports coming out are to be believed.
