After Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Suresh Raina, Mohammad Kaif and Kapil Dev, another Indian cricketer has joined the bandwagon of slamming Shahid Afridi for his controversial tweet on Kashmir.
Shikhar Dhawan, who will next be seen in action during forthcoming IPL 2018, had an in-your-face reply to Pakistan’s former captain Shahid Afridi, who had recently expressed his grief on bloodshed in “Indian Occupied Kashmir”.
“Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir. Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren’t they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?”, Afridi tweeted.

Afridi’s comment seemed needless and irked many Indian cricketers. Dhawan, known for his larger-than-life and cool behaviour, couldn’t resist himself and therefore asked Afridi to keep his opinions to himself.
“Pehle khudke desh ki haalat sudharo. Apni soch apne paas rakho. Apne desh ka joh hum kar rahe hai woh acha hi hai aur aage jo karna hai woh humein ache se pata hai. Zyaada dimaag mat lagao (Improve the state of affairs in your country first. Keep your views to yourself. Whatever we are doing in our country is good for us and we know what we will do in the future too. You do not need to worry about that),” Dhawan tweeted.

Here’s how other Indian cricketers reacted to Shahid Afridi’s tweet:
Media called me for reaction on @SAfridiOfficial tweet on OUR Kashmir & @UN. What’s there to say? Afridi is only looking for @UN which in his retarded dictionary means “UNDER NINTEEN” his age bracket. Media can relax, @SAfridiOfficial is celebrating a dismissal off a no- ball!!!

Kashmir is an integral part of India and will remain so always. Kashmir is the pious land where my forefathers were born. I hope @SAfridiOfficial bhai asks Pakistan Army to stop terrorism and proxy war in our Kashmir. We want peace, not bloodshed and violence. 🙏

Who is he? Why are we giving importance to him? We should not be giving importance to certain people: Kapil Dev, on #ShahidAfridi's tweet. pic.twitter.com/Cc4FdzxEx7

We have got capable people to manage & run our country. No outsider needs to know or tell us what we need to do: Sachin Tendulkar on #ShahidAfridi pic.twitter.com/m89ACfPVEn

As an Indian you want to express what is best for your nation & my interests are always for the benefit of our nation. If anything opposes it, I would never support it for sure: Virat Kohli on #ShahidAfridi (1/2) pic.twitter.com/EWUKQwlXec

But having said that, it's a very personal choice for someone to comment about certain issues. Unless I have total knowledge of the issues & the intricacies of it I don't engage in it but definitely your priority stays with your nation: Virat Kohli on #ShahidAfridi (2/2) pic.twitter.com/JFDwrbOMk5

As an Indian, I feel offended to see such baseless remarks! Kashmir is, was and…will always be an integral part of India.
