Virat Kohli, the best batsman in the world, the only player to average over 50 across international formats and the man who hammered a record-shattering 973 runs in a single edition of the IPL, perished to a teenager, completely outfoxed and outsmarted.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman, the 17-years-old Afghanistan spinner, who is a part of team Kings XI Punjab in the ongoing IPL, unleashed a googly from the back of his hand. Kohli failed to read it and the ball crashed into his stumps.
The RCB skipper got forward to drive the ball through the line without accounting for the spin and it sneaked past his blade to disturb the stumps. There was no exaggerated celebration from young Mujeeb. The Afghani lad would not dance with joy at outwitting a player like Kohli. But all one saw was a happy smile for a job well done.
Virat was disappointed with the way he lost the wicket, so was his wife Anushka Sharma in the stands.
