On Sunday, swashbuckling left-handed batsman, Chris Gayle, showed the world exactly why he should never be ignored and announced his arrival at Kings XI Punjab with a 33-ball 63 against Chennai Super Kings at Mohali. He was adjudged the man-of-the-match for his efforts.
Gayle started off in top gear smashing the first fifty in just 22 balls but slowed down a bit in the second half of his knock before he was dismissed by Shane Watson in the 12th over.
The big-hitting Jamaican smashed four sixes and seven boundaries during his stay at the crease.
Kings XI Punjab emerged winners after a tense but unsuccessful chase from MS Dhoni & Co.
