Anushka Sharma posts an emotional tweet on AB de Villiers’ retirement from international cricket

Bollywood actress and Virat Kohli’s wife, Anushka Sharma has posted an emotional tweet to convey her wishes to South African star batsman AB de Villiers who announced his retirement from all forms of cricket with immediate effect.

Anushka, who is currently shooting for ‘Zero’ opposite Shah Rukh Khan, took to her official Twitter handle hours after ABD announced his decision.

She wrote: “In life, what we do to positively impact the lives of others has greater meaning than what we accomplish for ourselves. You’ve managed to do both beautifully & always with such grace & integrity. Wishing you & Danielle a blessed, happy life ahead 🙏 @ABdeVilliers17 @DanielleDV27”

Earlier, ABD posted a video on his Twitter account to announce his decision to retire from all forms of international cricket.

AB de Villiers represented South Africa in 114 Tests, 228 ODIs and 78 T20Is and has scored 8765, 9577 and 1672 runs respectively. He averages more than 50 in Tests and ODIs. Mr 360° has 47 international centuries and 109 half-centuries to his name.

Besides Anushka, cricketers from around the world including Sachin Tendulkar, Graeme Smith, Virender Sehwag among others conveyed their best wishes to the former South African skipper on Twitter.

ABD’s RCB teammate and Indian captain Virat Kohli, however, is yet to comment on his retirement.
