WATCH: Dinesh Karthik hurls abuses at Prasidh Krishna

Dinesh Karthik generally employs a calm and collected approach on the cricket field. The attribute has helped him win a number of matches for his side.

He was the top run scorer for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2018 with 498 runs from 16 matches at an average of 49.80. The wicket-keeper batsman batted in the middle-order and was a dependable figure in their lineup. Albeit Karthik couldn’t get the massive scores, he chipped in with useful knocks and bailed his team out of precarious positions on quite a few occasions.

Karthik couldn’t keep his calm against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2:

In the eighth over of first innings, Kuldeep Yadav nipped out Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson to pull back some momentum for the Men in Gold and Purple. Karthik was keen on maintaining the pressure and not give easy runs to the SRH batsmen. On the last ball of the ninth over, he lost his cool and shouted at Prasidh Krishna.

Shakib Al Hasan pushed the ball on the off-side and set for a single. Thereafter, Prasidh collected the ball and tried to hit down the stumps at the non-striker’s end. Karthik, from behind the stumps, asked the pacer to keep his calm, but Krishna’s exuberance of youth got the better of him and he resorted to an erratic throw. By the time the throw came in, Shakib had already made his ground and there wasn’t any chance of a run-out.

The throw eluded the fielders and the fast-bowler ended up conceding an overthrow. Though only one run was added to the score, Karthik was disgusted by the proceedings. He chucked abuses at Prasidh and said, “Hey, you f***ing fool”
