England squad for fourth Test against India announced

England selectors have named a 14-man squad for the fourth Test match against India at Ageas Bowl starting on Thursday (August 30).

The right-handed middle-order batsman James Vince has been added to the squad.

Vince, who last played for England against New Zealand at Christchurch in April, has been in excellent form in the County Championship. The Hampshire captain averages 56 in Division One this summer and made scores of 74 and 147 for his county in their win against Nottinghamshire at the Ageas Bowl this week.

Apart from Vince, there hasn’t been any new inclusion in England side.

James Porter, who was in the squad for the first three games, wasn’t retained. Alastair Cook was earlier speculated to miss the encounter due to the birth of his third child. However, the management hasn’t left him out of the squad.

Here is England’s squad for the fourth Test:

Joe Root (c), Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Stuart Broad, Jos Buttler (wk), Alastair Cook, Sam Curran, Keaton Jennings, Ollie Pope, Adil Rashid, Chris Woakes, Ben Stokes, James Vince.
