On a gloomy Friday afternoon at Lord’s cricket ground, England picked up their third wicket leaving India wounded with just 15 runs on the board. Pujara walked back with a single after a horrible run-out mix-up with the Indian skipper Virat Kohli with many on social media reckoning that it was the latter’s fault.
With five slips behind Pujara in James Anderson’s second over after the rain-interruption, the pacer delivered a simple length delivery with the batsman tapped it down to the fielder at point. Pujara set off for a single and Kohli responded to it. But sensing the danger, Kohli stopped and turned back and returned to position, leaving Pujara stranded at the halfway mark and allowing debutant Ollie Pope to collect the ball and dislodge the bails at the striker’s end.
