For all the criticism that T20 leagues get from cricket purists, there’s no denying the fact that the shortest format of the game has the tendency to produce some stunning moments of cricketing genius.
One such moment of genius was on display in the Vitality Blast, England’s domestic T20 competition, in a match between the Birmingham Bears and the Lancashire Lightning.
Leg-spinner Josh Poysden pitched the ball on middle and leg and the ball spun and knocked off the top of right-handed batsman Steven Croft’s off-stump, leaving him in complete shock.
The bamboozled Croft stared in disbelief and smiled as he walked back to the hut. The excited commentator even said that English spinner Adil Rashid bowled Indian captain Virat Kohli through a similar delivery in one of the ODIs recently.
