St Lucia Stars defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors in a thrilling encounter with skipper Kieron Pollard leading from the front. The all-rounder stole the show with his superb batting display when he smashed Devendra Bishoo for 30 runs in an over.
Stars, who haven’t had the best of the seasons, winning just two games in the CPL 2018 so far, rode superbly on the quick-fire innings from Pollard to win the game by six wickets.
In the 18th over of the match, Pollard went berserk in his attack. He hit three sixes and three fours off Bishoo and destroyed Warriors’ chances of winning the game.

Stars needed 31 runs in the last three overs when Bishoo was handed the ball by Warriors skipper Shoaib Malik. However, Pollard single-handedly staged a stellar show with the willow and brought the equation down to just 1 run to get in the last two overs. Pollard started the attack with a whopping hit on a full-toss bowled outside off. He continued the assault and kept going after every bowl that the spinner bowled.
Pollard’s unbeaten 18-ball 41 took the game away from the Warriors as he took home the player of the match award.
