India defeated their arch rivals Pakistan comprehensively by 8 wickets to top Group A in the ongoing Asia Cup 2018.
It was a great show by the Indian bowlers who first dismissed Pakistan for a low total and then chased down the set target with ease.
Pakistan captain Sarfarz Ahmed won the toss and decided to bat first. India got off to a perfect start as Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Imam Ul Haq for 2 and dangerous Fakhar Zaman for 0, reducing Pakistan to 3 for 2 in the 5th over.
After two early dismissals, Shoaib Malik and Babar Azam came to rescue but Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Azam in the 22nd over of the game. Pakistan couldn’t recover from there as a wonderful bowling display by the Indian bowlers started to take wickets at regular intervals and bowled the opposition out for 162.
Chasing 163, India had a scintillating start as Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma added 86 runs for the first wicket. The Indian captain, who scored 52 off 39 balls, was dismissed by Shadab Khan in the 14th over. Whilst, Dhawan (46), on the other hand, continued to do the damage. Although he was also soon dismissed by Faheem Ashraf the damage was already done.
Pakistan couldn’t make a comeback as Ambati Rayudu (31 not-out) and Dinesh Karthik (31 not-out) played with consummate ease and went on to finish the game.

A commanding effort by the Indian team to beat Pakistan by 8 wickets. What a start by Bhuvi, he's back in form and so is India. After the Hong Kong game, this was much needed #AsiaCup #INDvPAK

Two ODI wins on the same day for India. Who would’ve thought it was possible!!!
Clinical vs Pakistan. It felt as if HK never pushed India to the brink….well played 🇮🇳 #IndvPak #AsiaCup @StarSportsIndia— Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash) September 19, 2018
Doesn’t appear it’s same Indn side which was huffing/puffing to beat H’Kong yesterday..but now steamrolling Pakistan into submission really..no contest n Indo/Pak clash is most disappointing..!No doubt 2 Asian giants shall battle again in this Cup..InshaAllah..!!
