Indian skipper Virat Kohli broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record during the first Test against Windies as he became the quickest Indian to score 24 centuries in the longest format of the game. He reached the landmark in 123 innings while Tendulkar took 125 innings to score his 24 Test ton. Overall, the list is topped by Don Bradman, who reached his 24th Test ton in just 66 innings.
Kohli, who was on 72 overnight, hit a four off Devendra Bishoo to complete up his ton in the opening Test of the two-match series at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
The Indian skipper also surpassed Australia’s Steve Smith to go second in the list of centurions among active players, behind South Africa’s Hashim Amla on 28. Smith, who is serving a one-year ball tampering ban, has 23 tons in 64 Tests.
Meanwhile, Twitteratis were busy praising the Indian captain for his another sublime knock.
