A couple of days after scoring 106 off just 78 balls, Shimron Hetmyer took the Indian bowlers to the cleaners once again. The 20-year old looked in top form right from the time he came out to bat while the Windies were chasing an imposing 322 in the second ODI at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
He launched a stunning counter-attack to help his side claw their way back in the game. Hetmyer reached his fifty off just 43 balls and continued to torment the Indian bowlers. But unfortunately, his stunning knock came to a disappointing end as he was dismissed for 94.
The southpaw tried to heave Yuzvendra Chahal’s delivery on to the leg side. But the leather went high into the air off a leading edge and Virat Kohli didn’t make any mistake in pouching the ball cleanly.
The Indian skipper was excited after taking the catch, understanding the importance of the wicket. He pumped his fists and screamed with valour. On the other hand, Hetmyer walked back dejected, having failed to score a century.
