Season 1 of “Inside Edge“, an Amazon Prime Video Original series was a huge hit among the Indian viewers. The 10 episode season was released on 10th July 2017, with Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar as Executive producers of the show.
The show takes the viewers behind the scenes of cricket and entertainment. It is about politics, money, and power. The series includes previous cricket scandals, match-fixing allegations in 2000 surrounding Hansie Cronje and Mohammed Azharuddin, the mysterious death of Pakistan Cricket Team coach Bob Woolmer in 2007 and the IPL spot-fixing case in the year 2013 which resulted in a 2-year ban for Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings team.
It was one of the most critically acclaimed shows of 2017 for performance and storyline. The show has really strong characters and intriguing narrative that showcases the darker side of the cricket. The series has also been nominated in the Drama Series category at The International Emmy Awards.

Due to its huge success, Amazon officially announced the Season 2 on 4th April 2018. “We are thrilled to announce an all-new season of Amazon’s first Indian Prime Original, Inside Edge. The first season of Inside Edge received a tremendously positive response. We are happy to work with Excel Media & Entertainment again on Inside Edge Season 2.”, told Amazon Prime Video’s Director Content, Vijay Subramaniam.
Season 2 would be released sometime in 2019, final dates yet to be confirmed.
