Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defied all the odds stacked against them by winning the IPL 2018 title.
They had a very old team with India veteran MS Dhoni in form of a skipper, and it was their first time that they were playing the tournament in 2 years after being banned due to corruption charges.
The defending champions, therefore, didn’t tinker largely with the squad balance ahead of the 2019 IPL auctions and only released three players: two uncapped players Kshitiz Sharma and Kanishk Seth and most notably, England pacer Mark Wood.
In the next IPL edition, the Chennai boys will only be one more year older considering the minimal changes to their squad, however, they will take comfort from the fact that their players are one year more experienced.
