Though the three-match T20I series is the first hurdle that the two cricket-frenzy nations have to cross in their anticipating clash, the core concern of India’s tour of Australia revolves around the four-match Test series.
The Test series will start from December 6 and with little less than a month ahead of the first match, legendary Aussie spinner Shane Warne has put forth his version of the playing XI to play against India in Adelaide.
Barring Peter Siddle, Marnus Labuschagne and Jon Holland, Warne’s playing XI is almost similar to that last played against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi. Warne’s team also features the name of Usman Khawaja, who injured his knee in the second Test against Pakistan after heroically guiding his team to a draw in Dubai.
“If I was a selector then this would be my first test team against India on Dec 6th in Adelaide, real shame it’s not a day/night test match! Agree?” wrote Warne on his Instagram account as he shared his playing XI.
Shane Warne’s Australia playing XI for the first Test against India:
Aaron Finch (vc), Usman Khawaja, Shaun Marsh, Travis Head, Marcus Stoinis, Tim Paine (c & wk), Mitch Marsh, Pat Cummins, Micthell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood.
