Stepping in at the crease following the dismissal of Aaron Finch on Kuldeep Yadav’s bowling during Australia’s T20 clash against India, Glenn Maxwell set about a savage run-scoring onslaught.
The Big Show lit up The Gabba blasting a hat-trick of sixes off Krunal Pandya in the 13th over of the match as he and Marcus Stoinis swaggered about the wicket on Wednesday night.
Just when it looked as if nothing could stop Maxwell from scoring, the 30-year-old skewed a slog in the 16th over that flew high, crashing into the spidercam hovering above the wicket – perhaps saving the Aussie batsman from being caught out.
After the bizarre incident, Maxwell smiled, maybe at the slice of luck. On the very next delivery from Pandya, he swiped one to the long on region for a couple of runs.
He was finally dismissed on 46 (24 balls, 4 sixes) after the rain-break in the 17th over by Jasprit Bumrah.
