Afghanistan’s opening batsman Mohammad Shahzad on Wednesday proved why is he one of the fiercest hitters of the cricket ball when he slammed 74 runs off just 16 deliveries and in process scripted the record for fastest fifty in the 10-over format.
Shahzad just took 12 deliveries to score his fifty in the opening match of the ongoing T10 League in the UAE. During his 74-run knock, the Afghan batsman smashed eight sixes, six fours, taking only two singles and played no dot balls.
Batting first, Shane Watson-led Sindhis posted a challenging target of 94 in 10 overs but it was Shahzad’s blistering fifty which stole the show completely as the Rajputs chased down the target in just 4 overs making it a one-sided affair.
