Off-spinner Ashley Nurse has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match T20I series against India, weakening further the Windies outfit that has struggled on the tour so far.
Nurse picked up a niggle in his shoulder during the 4th ODI at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Due to injury, he was ruled out of the Windies playing XI for the fifth and final ODI against India in Thiruvananthapuram.
“He (Nurse) is ruled out for the entire tour. I wish him well. Hopefully, he can recover quickly for the next tour,” the Windies skipper Jason Holder said at the toss on Thursday.
Meanwhile, India clinched the ODI series 3-1 by registering a 9 wicket win over the visitors in the 5th ODI.
However, there is some good news for the Windies side as the T20 specialists will return to the side for the 20-over format.
The likes of Carlos Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell and Denesh Ramdin will be back for the 2016 T20 World Cup winners.
The two sides will next clash in a T20 series with the first match scheduled to take place in Kolkata on Sunday (November 4).
