It was an action-packed opening day during the first Test between Australia and India at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday.
After a sensational start to the match by the Aussie bowlers, Cheteshwar Pujara bailed India out with a stunning century. While his magnificent 123 runs off 246 balls were the highlight of the game, Ajinkya Rahane’s special bat also caught the attention of many fans as the Indian vice-captain turned with a bat signed by the legendary Rahul Dravid.
Rahane and Dravid share a special bond having played together for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Rahane has often credited Dravid to have helped him improve his batting technique and make him a better batsman.
“Best wishes, Rahul Dravid,” was written on Rahane’s bat which he used during India’s first innings in Adelaide.

However, it didn’t turn out to be a great outing for Rahane as he failed to make an impact with the bat. He was dismissed on 13 off 31 deliveries after playing a dreadful shot off Josh Hazlewood’s bowling to give away an easy catch to Peter Handscomb.
