IPL 2019: Sam Curran excited to be a part of Kings XI Punjab franchise

England have produced a number of talented cricketer over the years, the latest of them is all-rounder Sam Curran. He forayed into international cricket during the Three Lions’ Test series against Pakistan at Headingley and he didn’t disappoint by any stretch of the imagination. Thereafter, he was picked for the five-match Test series against India, captained by Virat Kohli.

The 20-year-old Curran has now signed a million dollar deal with the IPL franchise, Kings XI Punjab. Curran has joined the franchise, who already have Windies star Chris Gayle in their squad, for INR 7.2 crore after the franchise saw off competition from Royal Challengers Bangalore at the 2019 IPL auction in Jaipur on Tuesday.

The youngster has had a great year which saw him playing a crucial role in the Test series against India with both bat and ball.

Curran, being on the fringes of the England ODI team is an outsider to make it to the ICC World Cup 2019 which makes him available for the whole of the IPL season scheduled to start in late March.

After being picked by Preity Zinta’s KXIP, Curran took to Twitter to express his excitement over joining the franchise in 2019 and expressed his gratitude to his county and managers for supporting him all the way.

“What a year! Couldn’t be more excited to join the @lionsdenkxip at the @IPL in 2019. Thanks for the continued support from everyone @surreycricket”, he tweeted.

The left-hander plays county cricket for Surrey and has already shown immense promise in his brief career, making him an exciting prospect for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL 2019.
