In the first test match at Adelaide Oval, India defeated Australia in a close game to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Chasing a target of 323 runs in the second inning, team Australia fell short of 31 runs, getting all-out at a score of 291 runs.
This marks India’s first test win in Australia after 11 years. It was also an interesting match for Indian pacer Ishant Sharma, who picked up Aaron Finch’s wicket on a no ball. He bowled a total of 5 no-balls during the match but provided the team with the break-throughs at some important situation in the match.
On the 5th day of the match, Ishant picked up the first wicket in form of Travis Head with a terrific bouncer. Travis wasn’t able to keep the ball down and ended up giving a simple catch to Rahane who was standing at the slips.
