Anushka Sharma congratulates Virat Kohli-led India for the historic ODI series win in Australia

Yuzvendra Chahal returned to ODIs with a bang as he picked up a career-best 6 for 42 to help India fold Australia at a score of just 230 runs in the series decider at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

The rest was done by former India skipper MS Dhoni in the run chase. He scored another patient and crucial half-century on Friday to help India defeat Australia by a convincing seven wickets as Kohli-led Men in Blue became the first-ever Indian side to win a bilateral ODI series in Australia. Also, the win has made this Indian side the first visiting team to beat Australia in a bilateral series across all formats in Australia.

Hours after India won the historic ODI series on Australian soil, Bollywood actor and captain Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma took to Twitter to congratulate the Men in Blue and her husband for “an unforgettable and outstanding tour”.

“What an unforgettable & outstanding tour it’s been!! Happy to have witnessed the historic victories by the men. HUGE congratulations (Team India). And so proud of you my love @imVkohli,” she said in a tweet.

In the meantime, Anushka has been accompanying husband Virat and the players in several matches throughout the Australian tour.
